Panama is located in South America, has a population of approximately 4,1 million inhabitants. Its capital has the same name and it’s the biggest city in the country. It is member of the International Monetary Fund (IMF), the Organization of American States (OAS), the Organization of the United Nations (UN) and the Central American Integration System (SICA).
In the last decade the country has experimented an average growth of 8%, becoming in the biggest rate registered in Latin America. Also, Panama has adopted the necessary measures to stop money laundering. For the next few years, a growth of around 6% is expected. The priority economic sectors are: transport, water and energy infrastructure. Also noteworthy are the transport, port and logistics services associated with the activity of the canal, as well as private construction and banking and financial services.
