Chile is the Latin American country with the best projection to do business, according to Forbes
What great news for Chile means being considered, by Forbes, among the 161 countries with the best business environment. The ranking places it in 33rd place worldwide, while in the Latin American region it is the first, imposing itself against Brazil, Argentina and Mexico.
Chile, a country characterized by being relatively small, has 17.9 million inhabitants, where 40% of its population is centralized in Santiago, its capital. Its consistent policy has allowed it to qualify its sovereign bonds as the strongest in South America and its financial institutions enjoy a positive reputation. Its level of risk for investments is low and it is the main importer in Latin America.
According to the International Monetary Fund (IMF), in 2018, Chile increased its Gross Domestic Product (GDP), by 1.7% compared to the previous year, currently amounting to USD 227 billion. It has a GDP per capita of USD 15,300 and a really low unemployment rate by Latin American standards of 2.2%.
In this way, it highlights its leadership with respect to competitiveness, economic freedom and financial development indices, which make it the Latin American country, with the most dynamic environment in its region, positioning it macroeconomically stable and with a greater prospect of growth.
